CartoonistLewd’s journal entry.

Hello and welcome to my first journal entry from my official website.

In the past I wrote journal entries on DeviantArt and then on Facebook. Today I final decided that it was time to stop placing my journal content there and to start placing it here. After all, the goal is to start supporting my personal website over just posting content to social media, in hopes of garnishing a return.

I been long maintained a website, going back to 2000 shortly after graduated collage. I had been interested in the web space for a long time. A friend helped me to learn some basics on how to write web code back when it was just html, css, and later php. Ever since then I continue to maintain and support a stand alone website for myself.

Now I just manage my websites using WordPress, and it’s had its ups and downs through out the years. These days it seems to have reached a stability I’m happy with. Sadly however, I think this makes me obsolete because as I shift away from relying on social media sites for mainly posting content, the rest of the world seems to be depending upon it heavily for holding its content. I had a fall out with social media because of the constant rule changes and the abruptness to pull content at the bat of an eye, even when it was posted years ago. Content strikes, semi-bans, permanent-bans, and account removals seem to be the law of the internet space these days. Meanwhile forcing the cream-of-the-crop towards revenue services is the new promise to securing financial freedom. I been around the block a few times to know that this is mostly snake oil without putting in the time, but it keeps people locked into posting on social media regularly.

I would be lying if I say I didn’t fall for it myself, and am still wish for it now. I have however, learn to change my habits as social media constantly changes the rules. From now on the plan is to support my own art with my created sites while social takes the second tier. Posting direct content to TicTok or Instagram may boost your following, however it’s just smoke and mirrors if it’s not leading to where the content actually resides.

I conclude with this. As a creative person in the hobby of creating my own brand of art entertainment, it’s time for me to support my own content over the power of the social posting age. I look forward to sharing more content as I start and finish works in the coming weeks, months, and years ahead.
